Policies & Terms of Service

Notary Proper Last updated: April 1, 2026

These policies explain how I schedule, price, and deliver my services. By booking an appointment or engaging my services, you agree to the policies below.

Contact & Service Area

  •  Email: khadya@notaryproper.com
  • Location: Camden County, New Jersey
  • Service Area: Camden County and surrounding South Jersey communities.

General Terms

  • Commissioned Officer: I am a commissioned Notary Public in the State of New Jersey. I operate in strict accordance with the New Jersey Notary Public Act (N.J.S.A. 52:7-10 et seq.).
  • Legal Disclaimer: I am not an attorney licensed to practice law and I may not give legal advice or accept fees for legal advice. I cannot explain the legal effects of your documents. For questions regarding the content or legal impact of a document, please consult with an attorney prior to our appointment.
  • Signer Appearance: All signers must personally appear before me, be physically present, and demonstrate that they are signing of their own free will and understand the nature of the document.
  •  Document Integrity: Documents must be complete at the time of notarization. I cannot notarize documents containing blank spaces that are intended to be filled in later.

Identification Requirements

In accordance with New Jersey law, all signers must present a valid government-issued photo ID.

  • Acceptable IDs: Driver’s licenses (NJ or out-of-state), US or recognized Foreign Passports, and Government-Issued Non-Driver IDs.
  • The 3-Year Rule: Per NJ statute, I can accept a government-issued ID that has expired, provided the expiration date is within the last three years.
  • Name Matching: The name on the ID must reasonably match the name as it appears on the document.

Witness Policy

Many Estate and Trust documents require one or more witnesses.

  • Providing Witnesses: I can provide disinterested witnesses upon request for a fee of $35 per witness.
  • Client-Provided Witnesses: You may provide your own witnesses. Witnesses must be at least 18 years old, of sound mind, and have no beneficial interest in the document (i.e., they should not be family members or beneficiaries named in a Will or Trust).
  • Identification: All witnesses must present valid photo identification for me to verify.

Mobile & In-Person Appointments

  • Travel Fees: Travel fees are quoted at the time of booking. This fee covers the mobile nature of the service and is separate from the per-signature notary fee.
  • Wait Time: A 15-minute grace period is included. After 15 minutes, wait time may be billed in 15-minute increments.
  • Facility Visits: For visits to hospitals or care facilities (e.g., Cooper or Virtua), please ensure the signer is alert and facility staff are aware of the visit. If the appointment cannot proceed due to the signer’s condition, travel fees still apply.

Apostille & Authentication Services

  • Scope: I provide professional courier and preparation services for documents intended for international use. This includes submission to the New Jersey Secretary of State in Trenton.
  • Processing Times: Government processing times are estimates provided by the state office and are subject to change. I am not responsible for delays caused by government agencies or mail carriers.
  • Third-Party Shipping: I am not responsible for documents once they are in the possession of a third-party carrier (UPS, FedEx, USPS).

Payments & Refunds

  • Payment: Payment is due at the time of booking or at the start of our appointment. I accept major credit cards and approved digital payments.
  • Refunds: Once a notarization is performed, fees are non-refundable. For Apostille services, if you cancel before I submit the documents to the State, a refund will be issued minus any travel or administrative costs already incurred.

Right to Refuse Service

To protect the integrity of the notarial act and comply with NJ law, I reserve the right to refuse service in the following circumstances:

  • The signer does not have acceptable, valid identification.
  • The signer appears confused, lacks the capacity to understand the document, or appears to be acting under duress or coercion.
  • The document is incomplete or contains blank spaces.
  • I suspect the transaction is fraudulent or illegal.
  • The behavior of any party involved is threatening, unprofessional, or prevents a safe and proper notarization from taking place.

Updates to Policies

I may update these policies from time to time to reflect changes in New Jersey law or my business practices. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will indicate when the most recent changes were made. Your continued use of my services after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
